Tea Leaf Reading
(Requested by apatheticallyjaded)
By: Anna Yamamaya
Sometimes when I drink my daily cup of genmaicha, a type of Japanese green tea with brown rice, I catch myself looking at the loose contents floating inside the cup. They hypnotize me at times, and I see certain images and patterns forming. What I was unconsciously almost doing was called tea leaf reading—a type of divination using tea...

Himalayan Salt Lamps
While I was reading The Complete Guide to Holistic Cat Care (yes, I’m interested in a holistic veterinary career), I came upon this passage:
Depleted Negative Ions
The artificial world we have created for ourselves and our pets deprives us of the sensory pleasure of negative ions. Negative ions, which have beneficial effects on the immune and nervous systems, are experienced during...

Children's Story for Imbolc
“Grandfather? Grandfather, is it time for another story,” asked the littlest child, barely refraining from jumping up and down in excitement.
The old man leaned back in his chair and smiled, as he lit his pipe. After taking several puffs, he said, “Yes. I think is about a time. So where was I? Ah, yeah the Sun King born and the Maiden sleeping.
“Well the Sun King...

justastolenrelic asked: Can you guys write up something on tea leaf reading? Like...can you just rip open a normal tea bag, or does it have to be special...?
@Anna
Thank you! And nope. They aren’t hard to grow. Well the smaller variety aren’t, never grew the tall ones before because there’s no room. :D But the dwarf sunflowers are pretty easy and you can easily grow one in a pot. I usually buy them from Home Depot when my dad has to buy stuff from there which is quite a lot because we do a lot of home renovations. But ya it’s pretty...

Gardening Galore
By: Adrenia
So I’m already starting to plan this year’s garden and have been staring and feeding my eyes with pictures of other gardens and plants. :D Looking at past looks of my garden I’ve been wanting winter to be over and start seeing those spring bulbs start to poke up from the ground.
Anyway here’s a glimpse of my garden from last year and the year before that....

Artemis
I Heart Paganism’s Goddess Series
Artemis
By: Anna Yamamaya
Her Origins and History
Most historians suggest that the origins of Hellenic Artemis, the well-known Goddess of the hunt, originated from the Minoan Lady of the Beasts, Potnia Theron. The Minoans, who settled in Crete, were a peaceful civilization that followed a Goddess-centered religion. However, the early Minoan civilization...

naturaldetails-deactivated20110 asked: I'm not sure if you've already touched on this in your tumblr, if so just disregard this.
But I was wondering if you could post some things about Imbolc :)
Certain things like ritual and ceremonies and anything else you can think of.
Thanks!

Finding Fellow Pagans Project.
This is just something I’m curious at and could possibly help other pagans find other pagans in their state, country, province, etc. here on tumblr. I’m going to do this for all the states first starting with New York (because that’s where I’m from) and then other countries, places based on my visitor map. I’ll post them 10x daily so just look out for your...

Choose Eco-Friendly Candles
Whether there’s 16 of them topping a birthday cake, two tapers gracing the dining room table, or a handful of votives providing fig-scented ambiance around the house, candles can light up your life in more ways than one. But besides casting that gentle flicker, candles can also emit carcinogens and neurotoxins. Eco-friendly candles made from palm oil, beeswax, and soy ensure you...

Pagan Podcasts
Hey you guys. So lately I’ve been looking into Pagan Podcasts. I’ve never really listened to any podcasts before only a few in the past. Yesterday I was actually listening to a few and trying to find some that were actually good and dun. dun. dun. I actually found a really good one that is both funny and informational. Actually while listening to them they kinda reminded me of being...

“To find the universal elements enough;
to find the air and the water exhilarating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter;
to be thrilled by the stars at night;
to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring;
these are some of the rewards of the simple life”
John Burroughs - American Naturalist
